How You Can Help

Donate
You can donate to the mission by sending a check to Kent Lutheran Church c/o South Sudan Mission 336 2nd Ave S. Kent WA 98032. Unless otherwise designated, funds will be allocated to the area of greatest need, but we have specified categories of overhead, team travel, medical, micro-business, school construction, water & sanitation. For credit card donations, those can be made via our Causes.com page.

Fund a mission team member's trip, or part of it. Each mission team member is raising their own travel funds. A big help would be sponsoring a team member outright or in part. Each team member's travel will cost approximately $2,500. Visit the team profile page here to choose a member to sponsor. You can contribute directly to them, or send a donation to Kent Lutheran with a note that it is to be used for that individual's travel.

Spread the word
Tell a friend about us, or "friend us" on Facebook. If you don't have funds to donate, but want to help, you can complete surveys on Causes.com via their "give a minute" application. For every survey you take, a donation is made to our ministry. (Must be a Facebook.com member).

Attend an event
From book clubs to car washes. Please come join us. Our events page is here.

Shoe drive
We're collecting used shoes of (almost) all types. Email Jessica to find the donation center nearest you, or to arrange a pickup. We can accept all shoes in wearable condition (no destroyed shoes). We cannot accept women's fashion boots, Crocs (and similar plastic shoes) or plastic flip-flop sandals.

Calendars and Cards
We still have 2013 calendars and blank cards for sale!  Both display a collection of beautiful photos taken by Kathlyn Kinney during our 2012 mission trip on the theme "Faces of Malual".  If you'd like either or both, contact Debbie Hunt or the church office.

5K Run/Walk
Sign up for the August 24, 2013, 5K Run/Walk at ShoWare Center traveling North up the Interurban trail.  Form a team or walk with a friend,  get sponsors, or be a "sleep-in" walker. This event will help fund the new school building in Malual.
